HOLY SHIT

Do a google image search for "Goodwillie" and this pops up on the second page. I wrote the artist an e-mail about it...he's an indie-rock dude about my age, I think. The coincidence is unreal. Two of my all time favorite things in the world and my name in a big arch above them...holy shit....

Dearest readers,

Lunchblog took a serious sacktap about three weeks ago when I got my new job. Most of my lunch activities are confined to the workspace now. It may sound sad...it may sound like the proverbial "lunch owl" had his wings clipped...in fact, the new job is amazing. When people ask me what I do for a living, I no longer feel like an idiot when I answer. I get to say "I'm a writer." I am very happy about that. I'll shut the fuck up and give you/me some events to look forward to:
09.04.05 - Sleep Out recording session (day #1 - full blog updates to follow)
10.01.05 - Tha 446 at the Slipper Club - Madison, WI
10.13.05 - Tha 446 w/ U.S.E. and Life During Wartime DJs - Schubas - Chicago, IL
10.14.05 - Sleep Out w/ the ZZZZ's at the House - DeKalb, IL
10.15.05 - Sleep Out w/ City on Film at the Slipper Club - Madison, WI
10.16.05 - Sleep Out w/ City on Film at Cactus Club - Milwaukee, WI

Emusic.com & NPR

NEWS - the Sleep Out set at Schubas this Friday night (8.12.05 w/ City on Film & Jeff Hanson) will be recorded by Emusic.com and made available to anyone who wants to purchase it after the show (even those of Irish descent). Also, it will be available for purchase shortly on Emusic.com's site. The quality of the recording is usually really outstanding and is totally worth the trouble filling out the four page contract involved. BUT SERIOUSLY - this should be pretty cool. I mean, if Russian Circles, My Morning Jacket and countless others have done it, who are we to say no? Sleep Out says "Yes" early and often and often too early. Also, Ed Lo will be playing keyboards at Friday's show.

Also, Sleep Out was supposed to be featured on NPR's Sunday Morning arts program "Hello Beautiful" but were bumped at the last minute. Hopefully we'll be featured on the show sometime soon and we'll keep you updated accordingly....
